Having a good headlamp when you’re camping is a must. It frees up your hands from holding a flashlight and gives you ample direct and ambient lighting wherever you look.
I recently picked up a rechargeable LED headlamp with 230° illumination. It charges with a USB so I don’t bother with batteries anymore. It was a hassle always making sure I had enough AA or AAA batteries so this is a great feature for me.
It’s waterproof, has 4 modes, and is motion sensing. What I like about the motion sensing feature is that it saves my battery and I don’t have to fiddle to turn it on and off. I just put it down and it turns off by itself, and then when I pick it up to use again it automatically turns itself back on.
It can reach a distance of 110 yards (100 metres), and has various modes for various uses. There’s the strong light, low light, strobe light, wide beam, and side lights. I’ve had quite a few outdoor camping headlamps over the years, and this one definitely takes the cake.
